A collection of images animals, places & nature. But I'm going to include people too.

This was taken early in the morning and is just around the corner from me and I regularly go down there to check stuff out. There has been at least one hawk living in this area for a few years now. In the past year ive saw two and directly in my neighborhood. One even caught something in a neighbor's tree. Idk if it was a mockingbird or small mammal.

Also in the area of previous photos. Large barns within sight on either side but only one still functions as a farm. So probably was a part of a farm long ago. As you can see it has been long forgotten.

We are in a major bird migration route for multiple species. When I lived in the Pacific Northwest (PNW), we got to see mature Bald Eagles nesting on one of our seaside walks. Now, we see very large dark-brown birds predating here. They are juvenile Bald Eagles. So we've been able to enjoy both ends of their life cycle.

After that, we've been able to enjoy small raptors (American Kestrel) through the Red-tailed Hawk. We see the occasional North Harrier and Eastern Kingird, but we've been very blessed with a large population of Northern Shrikes, which are reported to be in decline in the rest of this area. Just having an abundance here of a bird that is in decline is wondrous. Another wonderful thing about the shrikes is that they drive off bluebirds and mocking birds -and- they are songbirds as well.

I don't try and grow things outside here... the varmints eat it all before I can stop them. So the birds are my flowers now.

This is same area. Have caught a many a crawfish (we call em craw daddies) in the small stream. Last summer I took my kids and a few of their friends down to the exact spot I learned to catch em.

There are some minnows in there and even found a salamander a few years ago. And she had eggs. No cam so no pic but I plan on going back and look but gonna have a cam. She was black with beautiful blue spots or blotches. Was a first salamander for me and I was over 30. Same with black widow, lice, bed bugs, mole cricket, fox, and a pibald white-tail deer.

Same creek/area. Clearing the banks of flood causing debris. We got a river sweep around here too. I went a few times .

Deepest area is four feet maybe. Our local community action agency carried out this project.

People enjoying the Ohio river. Isn't uncommon to come across the remains of very large catfish. I found a bull frog the size ofa ffucking house cat close to this river lol.

Found a shitload of hypodermic needles dumped during a river sweep
