Re: The End of Osama Bin Laden, In Pictures.
People shouldn't drink from their cups too quickly because another will rise like Osama. Media blows everything out of preportion and creates a frenzy amongst the American people. Just goes to show you how blinded we are by the media.

Re: The End of Osama Bin Laden, In Pictures.
Long time lurker, first time ever commenting. I am an American. But sadly I must agree with you. I was appalled by the celebration of the death of a human. There's a reason I rarely read the comments in this forum. I was raised in a morbid house, my father was the first EMT in the state I was raised in. But I cannot rejoice in the violent death of another. However, I cannot say I would be so self righteous had I lost a loved one to the murderer. In this case we (Americans, maybe others) have been appalled by people celebrating the violent deaths of our own, and our allies. My heart dropped when I heard of the celebrations that took place the night the news was released. What makes "us" better than "them" if we act the same way in the same situations? For me it was a moment of reflection. So I guess I hope it is acknowledged that not all of us are the stereotype. Yes as a general rule I am proud of my country. It does not mean I am proud of the general public that resides in the country I live in.

Re: The End of Osama Bin Laden, In Pictures.
I disagree. Here's why: With Osama dead, it feels that we overcame fear that took over the whole world in the first decade of the 21st century. A century that was supposed to be full of modernity, development, rapprochement, peace and joy. All of which got hi-jacked by this scumbag on 9/11. Killing Osama feels like finding the cure to some bad disease that was threatening the human race. It's like HIV disappeared. People were not happy because we killed one man. But because finally we could go back to the lost times when you could fly without having to be strip searched. When people could trust each other. So yeah, we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. With the democratic revolutions in the middle east, the death of Osama and maybe of Qaddafi soon enough, we can all go back to being Americans once again. |

Re: The End of Osama Bin Laden, In Pictures.
The sky is blue on my planet..........yours?. Says who?, I don't recall anyone ever saying such things, I think you watch too much of the Disney channel. The sand in the bucket you have your head in must be wet as you are blind as well as wet behind the ears. And the hits just keep on coming. Wow this has happened already?, miracles do happen.....oh boy. You do realise your fantasies will never come true don't you? these things were put in place to keep the sheeple (YOU) in their little happy place, sounds like you didn't miss much anyway, where have you been?, you have missed much my friend, but if it's any consolation most people on Earth have missed the entire "big picture" you have not even seen a single negative let alone a full image, pull another bong and get back to the Simpsons "dude". You were alive in the 1800's and still have total recall.....brilliant for you mate. That's what happens when people like you suffer tunnel vision, just a bleek light that you can never quite reach....the world has been teasing you hasn't it?. Wow that's a pretty profound and definately naive statement to make, funny how ones final paragraph (not that you had any) can put the final full stop on the word stupid. All you have done here is rivet into the minds of the U.S haters the fact that you people are dumb. Thankfully though I know a lot of Americans and I know better, most I know have an IQ in triple digits. that's numbers mate, like 1234 etc I'm sure you are well into the double digits 96 or so, but don't feel too bad there are worse off, best just to keep a low profile from now on though OK?.
