During the Soviet era, children had to undergo ultraviolet treatment to make up for the of lack of sunlight, here is a picture of one of those treatments.

i got properly sunburnt at a club one night after dancing (raving  ) in front of a speaker stack upon which was a UV cannon....funniest bit is i had shades on so ended up with a damn glasses tan... |
