interesting... im surprised they didnt mention that sunlight kills (inactivates) flu virus, so when people are indoors more during the winter, they are in the sun less....i wonder if that has any effect on the spread of the virus?

That was interesting. I used to discredit theories that you can catch a cold through being cold, seems it's true after all

Nothing has changed. You still cannot catch a cold from being cold. There has to be a pathogen involved ; a bacteria or a virus. At the Antarctic research base near the South Pole, people rarely catch a cold as the pathogens involved are not naturally present in unpopulated zones. The only time the research scientists can catch a cold is when somebody new arrives, having transported the infection with them. Polar expedition explorers who are completely isolated from the outside world for long periods do not catch colds, that is well known.

I respect that, everyones bodies are built differently....but personally speaking
running in the cold doesn't affect me.

ahhh, but wouldnt the lowering of the body temperature allow for invading bacteria/ viruses to be more capable of survival and reproduction? The "fever" is the bodys natural defense against illness. It raises the body temperature as to be lessen the invaders capabilities to reproduce and invade..... so maybe some truth... I think personally cold is an aggravating circumstance to someone who has been exposed already, but I wouldnt say it CAUSED an illness..... except pneumonia, which is also "opportunistic" considering there are different kinds that can be caused by the inability to cough or deep breath....

Being cold can eventually kill you..i.e on Everest when you hit about 28,000ft which is known as the death zone, people have died from hypothermia as they start to hallucinate and frostbite kicks in when blood stops pumping to the extremities like fingers toes etc to protect the core and organs.
