What jumps out at me is how many red flags were ignored in this case. It seems that the police had several opportunities to make the connection and by the time they arrested him it was too late.

Yeah I understand what you mean...but it still doesn't give him the right to act upon it....if a person has a certain fetish then so be it but if this fetish or desire is going to cause suffering or death for another person (especially a child) then it becomes more than a simple fetish - there has to be something more in that person for them to be able to murder a child. I don't feel sorry for him. I would love to get the opportunity to be in a room with one of these sickos and put them down painfully - I understand the irony here but I don't care...they need to feel the pain they inflicted on others.
