Re: The Death of Timothy Treadwell
Treadwell often referred to a few male bears as Alpha's. Male bears are solitary animals except on a few exceptions. They will share food when food is aplenty such as when feeding on Salmon. Males tolerate each other but do not accept a dominant male ever. He also shot most of his video around bears that were very well fed or accustom to human interference. I believe this was his first adventure into the true wilds of Alaska. I read that he asked his girlfriend to grab a stick and hit the bear. She might as well have used a fly swatter and got the same affect. Grizzlies do not run from trouble like a black bear might. Play dead and get chewed on, shoot the mother fucker, or use bear spray those are the only options. The shot of the male with his legs ate is not from Alaska. I had not heard of the South America story. The wounds are similar to a Tiger attack and the body is laying in Elephant grass. I talked to Darwin a few years ago and it is still an open investigation in Alaska. Their forensic department says the Elephant grass is growing in a few area's in Washington state. |
