even though we now live more than 60 years later I feel pretty ashamed about what Germany did there. Both of my grandparents have been involved in WW2 and one committed suicide after the returned home. I'm German and the only thing I can say is that 60 years changed a lot. Nevertheless, I feel pretty crappy seeing this shit.

Amazing. Just amazing........ to have to go through that yet be able to make some sort of peace with the past as much as possible and be able to find your old home and say bye to your mother... he went through a LOT. He was meant to live, obviously.
