Great post :) When I was studying physics at a young age, it occurred to me that if we knew the velocity, momentum and direction of all particles in the universe, we could (with enough computing power) predict where all these particles would be at any point in the future. It seemed so obvious, but then came quantum mechanics. Radioactive decay has eluded our ability to predict events. We need to nail quantum mechanics first, of which I think we have little to no chance given that we are still unable to quantify the Pi constant - we still don't know how big a circle is, we can only estimate it. I think we need to go back to the drawing board with some of our mathematical principles before we can progress in the right direction. |

i dont see it much as a drawing board as much as a jigsaw puzzle.. we just keep pluggin away at the puzzle... in regards to such people like Newton, they discovered there was no piece for this "hole" and needed to create the puzzle piece by hand....--in ur drawing board analogy, there is no need to start from scratch when the puzzle has a shape a form and has defined focus and clarity..... Radioactive decay? Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle is used to explain the momentum and direction.. or . lack of knowing.. however much has been learned in the last few years... the principle in not a law....
