Re: The Dark Side of The Oil Spill : The Real Victims (May-June 2010)
This is where I live. I have 2 kids down by Venice helping the cleanup, one environmental engineer and one chemical engineer. As bad as the news reports are, it's only a fraction of the truth. BP is STILL using dispersants that have toxic components. They were ordered to cease many weeks ago, but have been secretly using them...to this day, 7/1/10. These are creating a dead zone in the Gulf, as the components sink to the ocean floor. They kill the plankton and krill that start the food chain for sea life. If this is allowed to continue, marine life will leave the Gulf because there will be no food supply...and we might as well give up and leave. I have 14 family members out of work and facing the loss of everything they possess. Please, if you can, contact any reputable charity and give what y'all can to help those who can no longer help themselves. And please, let the government AND BP know what you think of their attitude and actions. You are witnessing the end of a way of life.
