British urban explorer Daniel Marbaix photographed an abandoned house in Germany that appeared to have belonged to a doctor and was published in August 2013. Its home surgery remained equipped with a gynecological examination chair, instrument trays, specimen jars, an X-ray and a white coat.

The rest of the house contained furniture, clothing and family belongings. A Grotrian-Steinweg grand piano stood in a music room, while other rooms held an electric typewriter, books, a guitar, an old pram with a doll and a telephone. Dresses remained hanging in a bedroom, and anatomy prints lined a spiral stairwell. Peeling ceilings and a partially collapsed library showed the building's deterioration. The precise location and the date when the house was abandoned were not made public.

Wow. Great pictures. Surely someone must still be living there in some capacity, or at least looking after the place? It appears to be full of valuable items which I'm surprised haven't been half-inched.

you are right on the dot it could be abandoned when a certain adolf hitler started his reign of terror and from the looks of the mansion and the dresses and photos there seems to be from that late 1930's early 1940's era.

I'd guess it was abandoned long after the war. The typewriter in picture five and the ring binders shown in picture seventeen date from the 60's / 70's.

crazy, i always wonder what it was like the last day or two with stuff like this. like said above, looks like they just got up and walked out in the middle of a day one day.

Exactly. And check out the telephone. No way from the 30s or 40s.
