Update***
6 dead, 16 missing, captain turned out to be a coward and an asshole: now he's held.

He abandoned the ship much before the passengers and the crew were rescued: nothing is worse for a captain of a ship than being a coward like that.
Plus: it turned out that the ship was too close to the coast because he (the capt.) wanted to show Giglio island to the chief of the waiters (who did born there) as a surprise (and definitely, the surprise worked very weel), that when repeatedly asked via radio by police, guard coast etc. whether there was something wrong onboard he answered that "everything was ok" (ok my ass), he omitted to send a may day and, on top of that, when he abandoned the ship and was asked by the guard coast to return onboard, he declined. Oh, and he tried to recover personally the Black box, and of course NOT in order to share its contents, but luckily was stopped before doing that: the best thing he can do now is to shot himself and end of story.
The crew turned out to be both untrained and unable to speak italian/english, and guess what? Two women were already on a lifeboat, but they were asked to get off and to stick to the left side of the ship, in order to work as counterweight.
Counterweight, huh? on a 115.000 tons ship? The total weight of crew + passengers was about 280 tons, 'nuff said, i wonder what drugs they do.

Whilst I agree, forcing men to stay behind is selfish and hey guess what? You wanted equality, dont forget the fact that you're a woman means you get to play the sexist card whenever it suits ya!
