CornerShot: Israeli Camera-Aimed Weapon Frame for Firing Around Corners
CornerShot is an Israeli-designed weapon frame developed in the early 2000s by Lt. Col. Amos Golan and publicly displayed from 2003. Its front section can pivot by about 60 degrees, allowing a mounted pistol or rifle module to point around a corner while the shooter remains behind cover. A barrel-mounted camera sends a live picture to a color display near the stock so the shooter can aim without exposing his head or upper body. The system can carry several pistol models, including Glock, SIG, Beretta 92F and CZ handguns, as well as a 5.56mm rifle module. A 40mm grenade-launcher version was also offered. In the demonstration, the weapon is shown bent at its central hinge, aimed through a doorway and operated with the shooter watching the rear display. Several CornerShot units are also displayed on a table during an outdoor range presentation. |
