There was one who helped catch his owner's killer, too. They found DNA on his claws and scratches on the perp's face. I think that is one from the, "Autopsy," series. Have to look for it! Sadly, the bird was killed, too, but, he tried to defend his owner.  Amazing!  "The Love Bird:" This was a segment in Episode 11: "Sex, Lies, and Murder." It was about a 48 year old bachelor named Kevin Butler, who was killed in his home, along with his white crested Cockatoo, named Bird, (after Larry Bird), on Christmas Eve, 2001. The reason why I chose this to make the list was that an autopsy was done on the bird and they found the DNA of the killer, because Bird loyally tried to defend his owner by pecking at the murderer. Because of Bird's courage, the killer was convicted. It was kind of endearing in a sad way. Thanks for the help, kellyhound. For some reason, and Chris was helping me, I can only download youtube videos. Some of these birds are simply amazing! I never knew until recently, that birds bonded with their humans like dogs and some cats do.I posted one about a parrot in India freaking out when he heard the murderer of his owner's name, hence identifying that perp. I posted that one on here, too. One of my late middle brother's friends had a talking bird and he taught him to say, "I'm an eagle!" Cracked them up! |
