Cicadas Coming Out Soon!
May 21, 2013 A cicada is held for a photograph, (below), in Fairfax Station, VA, on May 18. After spending 17 years underground, an estimated 30 billion cicadas will crawl out of the earth & overrun the East Coast. Brood II, as this group of cicadas is known, will emerge when the temperature hits precisely 64 degrees. They will stick around for a few weeks, breed & die. ~Courtesy of msn~ |

Re: Cicadas Coming Out Soon!
I love cicadas. back in the day the thing to do was find their shells and take them off the trees. one time I even got to see one who had just come out of his skin. I also used to chase my aunt around with them LOL

I love them too. Love the noise in the summer evenings. Miss that now I am back in the UK. All I hear now in the evenings is police and fire sirens, and neighbours arguing. Oh it's great to be home! |
