That's interesting, I didn't know that. I didn't realize they could do it without physically removing them. I have horses and I've always felt bad for gelding them. With horses they have a huge open wound that has to stay open so it can drain, it's like that for weeks. The funny thing is they don't seem to be in any sort of pain after because you have to hose the wound to keep it open and they don't even flinch. Meanwhile, I'm turning green.

We used to do it to piglets on a farm years ago. Grab them by the back legs, slice the ball bag open a bit, pop both the nuts out, slice them off with a sharp knife. Bang, boof, all done and dusted in seconds. Doesn't hurt one bit. Unless you cut yourself on the knife of course. |
