Boy Attacked by Stray Dogs

Inida. A boy, Y.C, 6, was playing outside his house got seriously injured with bite wounds after he was mauled by a pack of stray dogs.

As soon as the boy walked into an open space in front of his residence, one of the dogs lunged at him and bit his leg. Even as the child fell to the ground and started screaming, four more dogs joined in the attack.

The video shows the dogs biting him multiple times on his legs and arms and dragging him across the ground in at least two different spots.

His ordeal ended only after a pedestrian rushed to his rescue and chased away the dogs by hurling stones.

Residents of the area alleged that the Municipal Health Department has failed to take any meaningful action despite repeated complaints about the stray dogs.

He was fortunate that there was a passerby who stepped in to help.

It's a shame because the dog has either been really badly treated or trained and now that girl will likely have life long fear of dogs.

I've only ever owner pitts and stafs (and now a whippet, hardest to train of the lot might I add) and all the bull terriers I've had have been super smart, very obedient and basically big silly love sponges.

I hate the rep they have dogs are like people if they are raised by shitty people you will likely have problems with them when they are grown up.

Raise them with love and structure much like people well you get the picture.

Re: Boy Attacked by Stray Dogs

Studies, like those from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), show that breed-specific behaviors are heavily influenced by environment and training, not just genetics.

Pit bulls share genetic similarities with other breeds, like American Staffordshire Terriers, that aren't universally labeled as aggressive.

A dog's behavior is shaped more by its upbringing, socialization, and training than by its breed. Pit bulls raised in loving, structured environments with proper training are often friendly and loyal.

Neglect, abuse, or training for aggression (e.g., for illegal fighting) can make any dog, including pit bulls, more likely to exhibit violent behavior.

A 2014 study in the journal Applied Animal Behaviour Science found that owner behavior and training methods were stronger predictors of aggression than breed.

pit bulls were involved in 22.5% of all dog bites in 2019. pit bull-type dogs make up about 20% of the U.S. dog population, (18 million out of 90 million dogs.)

German Shepherds were involved in 17.8% of all reported dog bite incidents in 2019 and they make up around 5% off all dogs in the U.S.
