Bob Berdella: Crime Scene Photos & Polaroids
Robert “Bob” Berdella was an American serial killer who murdered six young men in Kansas City, Missouri, between 1984 and 1987. Berdella lived in a house at 4315 Charlotte Street in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood and operated an antiques business at a local flea market. Inside his home, however, he held victims captive for extended periods, drugging, sexually assaulting, and torturing them before they died. Berdella later admitted killing Jerry Howell, Robert Sheldon, Mark Wallace, James Ferris, Todd Stoops, and Larry Pearson. Berdella's crimes were finally discovered in April 1988, when a 22-year-old man whom he had been holding captive managed to escape. The man jumped from an upper floor of Berdella's house and reached a nearby residence while wearing only a dog collar. He told police that Berdella had kept him prisoner for several days and repeatedly abused him. Officers obtained a warrant and searched Berdella's property, quickly discovering evidence that suggested the escaped man was not his only victim. The search of the house uncovered hundreds of photographs, including images showing men being restrained and tortured. Investigators also found human remains, including a skull inside the house and a decomposed head buried in the backyard. Dental records eventually identified the remains as Robert Sheldon and Larry Pearson. Police dug through portions of Berdella's yard looking for additional evidence, while photographs recovered from the house helped investigators connect several missing men to him. The remains of four of Berdella's victims were never recovered; he told investigators that he had dismembered their bodies and disposed of them with the garbage. Berdella eventually pleaded guilty to the six murders rather than face the possibility of a death sentence. He received life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. The nature of the crimes and the way he disposed of his victims led the media to call him the “Kansas City Butcher.” Berdella remained in prison until October 1992, when he died from a heart attack at the age of 43.  · |

Yeah Im not quite sure what the name was but the guy who did it kept some guys in his basement and tortured them and took pictures and notes and shit. Theres a thread on it somewhere here.

I know this photo. It is in a book called "Rites of Burial", based on the true accounts of Robert Berdella, the BUTCHER of Kansas City, MO. He would entice guys to mow his yard and do handy man jobs around his house, offer to make them lunch (which was laced with tranquilizers) then torture them, rape them, and keep them hostage until he killed them.

Ah, Mr. Berdella. How I wish i could spend 15 minutes in the Kansas City PD evidence locker to see your collection of photographs. Serial killers fascinate me, and while Robert here only has 6 known victims, he was very pious about his work so to speak. Great Pic, very rarely does such a pic come along. Thank you.
