Boatmen Free Wooden Boat Caught Between River Launches in Bangladesh
Two boatmen freed a small wooden boat after it became caught beneath the steel bow of a large passenger launch at a river terminal in Bangladesh. Bengali route boards on the larger vessels displayed Dhaka, Barishal and Jhalokathi destinations. The men pushed against the launch with their hands, feet and a pole while hauling on ropes as its bow pressed down on their boat. Onlookers watched from an adjacent deck. The men eventually shifted the wooden boat clear and moved it alongside the launch as water churned around the vessels. Both remained upright, and neither was seen entering the water.
