Bipedal Bear' Filmed Walking Around New Jersey Suburb

It was a beautiful day in one New Jersey neighbourhood until residents caught wind of a so-called “bipedal bear.”

In a video uploaded to YouTube on Monday, footage of a bear walking upright was captured by an early riser in Jefferson Township, a community that's home to nearly 20,000 people.

The bear is seen walking across a quiet street toward a wooded lot using two feet. At one point, it even stops and bends over to take a whiff of a garbage can and continues on its way.

However, despite the video being clearer than one uploaded last month of a “bipedal bear” with a similar gait in a neighbouring township, it isn’t convincing everyone.

Some skeptics are questioning the legitimacy of the video, suggesting the bruin may be “just a dude in a bear suit.”

It's a real bear with an injured forepaw/leg by the looks of it.

This isn't anything new...bears are actually quite good at walking on their hind legs, they do it all the time in nature.

For as long as they want. Why this bear was doing it for so long is anyone's guess.

Re: Bipedal Bear' Filmed Walking Around New Jersey Suburb

This is authentic, that is a real bear. It does seem to have an injured forepaw and this is why he is walking upright for an extended period. Bears are actually quite "Bipedal" and do this more than you know.

No. Bear suit. One hand is in the neck/head portion.

That is why there is a "Limp".

The other hand is in the head, the costume is good in including that morphology. A realistic motion can then be applied that otherwise could not.

Simple puppetry.
