In 2009, vets at the Leipzig zoo were baffled when some bears began to lose hair. Not just a few clumps, but their entire fur coat. Vets earlier assumed the bears were going to grow a thicker fur coat to deal with the winters in Leipzig, away from their native South America. That didn’t happen, and the animals went full bald, and took on a way more scary appearance.
