Bangour Village Psychiatric Hospital
55°55′25″N 3°33′00″W Ex-psychiatric (mental) hospital, closed in 2004. I pass this place every day goin to work, just went for a looksie the other day and took a few pics. Nowadays the place is frequented by ghost hunters and people trying to chorey the copper pipes/wires. A few years ago, they done a large scale training exercise here to simulate de-contamination of multiple casualties if a nuclear/dirty bomb detonated in a populated area: http://www.westlothiancourier.co.uk/...62405-24763004 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangour_Village_Hospital |

Re: Bangour Village Psychiatric Hospital
I used to cycle past there almost every day in the 1990s!! Thanks for posting this place, it's amazing and a popular place to explore My grandad was a patient there following mental trauma after a fellow coal miner friend was blown up with dynamite in a terrible accident at Polkemmet Colliery. Do you remember Bangour Hospital? The war one also long closed? I recall it's heavy black rubber doors in all the long corridors. |
