Baby Emperor Penguins Jump From 20 Meter (65 Foot) Icy Cliff
The first jump of penguins from 20-metre height was caught on video National Geographic cameramen filmed the moment when baby emperor penguins jump from a 20-metre high icy cliff. Scientists said that usually penguin cubs jump from a low height - but these chicks found it difficult to enter the water. Their parents had already gone to sea, and the chicks were waiting for their smooth, waterproof adult feathers to grow back. Published footage shows hundreds of penguins crowding around the edge of the icy cliff until one of them decides to jump. The others make sure it doesn't crash and then jump after it. National Geographic notes this rare phenomenon has been observed by scientists in the past, but it has not been televised before

 When one jumps they all do.Reminded me of Lemmings suicide jumping off a cliff but that was staged by scientists and debunked later on. |

So with all the crowding did those younglings jump or were they “crowded” off? Jump on your own or just wait a minute and the surging crowd will force you off the ledge.    |
