Aviation & Military Aviation Thread

Highly impressive avionics for a UAV.

Looks like a little Northrop signature at the rear there.

Re: Aviation & Military Aviation Thread

I do love my military aviation as it goes.
Here's a documentary on my favourite 5th Generation fighter, the best fighter never produced.

I'd be interested to see anything else posted here.
YF-23 is a prototype that lost to the YF-22 (F-22). It was never in production.

Yep! That's Lobbyists for you the YF-23 was the better bird in my opinion longer range, considerably, stealthier PAV2 with her General Electric engines was faster even with supercruise.
The lack of horizontal stabilizers probably helped the YF-22 clinch it on maneuverability.

It was indeed developed by Northrop. The government had to award them a contract in the end, with two failed attempts at JSF and the YF-23.

Yes Northrop now Northrop Grumman have frequently used zigzag like angles at the rear of their birds, i'm guessing to deflect radar waves as they hit it like with the B-2 Spirit and of course theYF-23.

The Sukhoi Su-37 NATO Code name UFO.
Must be why there are no UFO's in Russia.
