I wouldn't go as far as to say caught with their pants down but definitely caused a little embarrassment for sure. With the United States and the sheer number of people that have access to privy information it is only a matter of time until someone leaks it to the press...

See their ern....We as a species CANNOT keep secrets....get why conspiracy for any amount of time...is highly unlikely if not impossible?

On 20 August 2010, Swedish police began an investigation into allegations concerning Assange's behaviour in separate sexual encounters involving two different women. Assange has said allegations of wrongdoing are "without basis", describing all the sexual encounters as consensual. In December 2010, Assange, then in Britain, learned that the Swedish authorities had issued a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) to extradite him to Sweden for questioning.
An extradition hearing took place on 7–8 and 11 February 2011 before the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court when the extradition warrant was upheld. On 2 March 2011, his lawyers lodged papers at the London High Court to challenge the ruling to extradite Assange to Sweden. Assange remains on conditional bail. After a hearing on 12 and 13 July 2011, the High Court deferred its decision, and on 2 November 2011, dismissed Assange's appeal. Assange is seeking permission to appeal to the UK Supreme Court and a decision is expected on 5 December

So you see he DOES have charges pending! Now I honestly don't know if it is slander or not...I do agree in part with what he does, I also disagree with some of the stuff he does! I do think though that the information he leaks out is not worth the price we pay to let political and military information known to the public. I honestly don't believe we need to know everything our government does to keep us safe.
When you look at the time frame between the alleged incident, and the charges it looks pretty funny..... There was an absolute ton of political pressure involved, and even pressure put on anybody who was helping him receive donations to the point of every company involved dropping him.

To actually study and use this information as a way to track a individual user...would take a staggering amount of man hours to review and to then categorize....good thread though ern...this wikileaks shit is always interesting to me!
It doesn't take a staggering amount of anything but money and computer power.
Under the patriot Act, the US Government sends every piece of information sent IE phone conversations, message boards like this etc etc through a system that looks for certain key words.
This all happens without a warrant, on the pretext of keeping you safe.
Nothing you do is untracable, and its easier to find than you think it is.

Assange has some sort of charisma that WikiLeak groupie sluts find attractive. As soon as he become a worldwide freedom of information superstar all the groupies were gagging for his meat.

And like many rockstars who have groupies he is a fucking asshole.
Is it so hard to believe that he fucked a chick after they both agreed to use condoms and then he went for seconds during the night when he wasn't wearing one without there being a conspiracy??

I would question why she didn't press charges for 2 years? You think the same Government that said it didn't keep records of Civilian deaths in Iraq, would be honest about the guy that exposed that lie?
Is he an asshole? Seems like it to me.
But did he show you that the Government is lying to you? He did that too.

BULLSHIT!

Your saying that every phone call in the continental US is monitored?
It does take a huge amount of manhours to track someone. You want to know WHY I know? Cause I have been the target of a investigation before. To monitor just MY cel phone and to track me from Jan 1 to May 5, cost my government 1.25 million dollars. Now by using that logic times that by about 2.2 to find what it is per year. Times that by a estimated let's say 200 million people that use cel phones in the united states.

That is 500,000,000,000,000 dollars.

500 TRILLION DOLLARS. There isn't that kind of money in the entire global economy FFS.
