Re: Article About Slaves (1860) & Photographs (1868)

Good post

Funny how society always focuses on black slavery. What about the Scottish settlers who were kidnapped and used as slaves? The Egyptian slaves who built the pyramids? Slavery in ancient Rome. Went on everywhere. My dad spoke to an elderly black man who's grandfather was a slave and when he was offered freedom, he chose to remain a slave as he had a better lifestyle.
Slavery is a very interesting topic
There are more people living in slavery today than any other time in history.

This is what Democrats started the Civil war for: To keep blacks as slaves and today blacks overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Go figure.

I was a hard life for black men, women and children but the saddest part of it all was how the children were separated from parents and made slaves at an age where all they knew was harsh treatment and never spoken to kindly.

I think black and white photos show more drama and intensity. When there is color, no one really notices the point of the photos, just the color schemes.
