Animal Corpses Hanging in Trees, Nigerian food crisis, 2010.

Entrails of dead animals hanging as meat traders buy the dead animals to cook them on the spot and send them sell them in Nigeria. The stench from dead animals is very bad in Dakoro, about 450 km Northeast of the Nigerian capital, Niamey. This vast reserve in Gadabedji is the last grazing outpost for animals across the large West African State. In the last two weeks of June, 4,000 animals died as a result of a severe food crisis gripping this nation of 15 million people and affecting nearly half of the population. Meat traders roam the area buying dying animals for a fraction of the going rate. The meat is cooked on the spot and shipped to Nigeria. One man had to sell his animals (normally worth 400,000 CFA) for 70,000 CFA. His children are severely malnourished due to a lack of food. They are among 1.6 million children who are severely or moderately malnourished. Another 1 million are at risk of malnutrition.

wow.....see, i was just having this conversation with my dad. i watch all these commercials and see everything on tv about children starving....but half of what i see, there are animals in the background. yes, i completely understand animals are essential to 3rd world countries. those animals are their transportation, their working machines, everything, but when it comes down too it, ill eat before my god damn dog does.

Maybe if they'd stop breeding so fast, plant crops, and learn sustainable farming techniques they'd have food. Shiftless lazy cunts have relied on the foreign aid agencies for far too long. Now some smart arse is going to mention water. NEWS FLASH They have more fresh water than Australia does but we're doing fine, they have higher average rainfall that we do here. Dig a hole and build a well? Nah that's too obvious.

Blewvane, you nailed and I agree. We see the same thing in the states with welfare recipients. They will never be able to work or learn a trade as they have become accustomed to free money, food stamps, and housing from the US government.

I know there are a handfull of them that have the dash to do what's needed but they're far outweighed by the lazy masses. See those ads where they draw muddy water from a shallow hole? If they had a brain they'd use the dirty water for farming and boil their drinking water. Woops!! That's far too obvious too.

Too bad the government is so fucking corrupt, otherwise teaching them how to manage their ecology with modern farming and ranching techniques would help them from being in such a pitiful state.
