Pistol Shrimp
I know, you see shrimp and you are thinking what the fuck? But you definitely don't want to get in front of this guy. He will cock his claw back like a gun and when it fires it creates a collapsing bubble. When it collapses it will reach temperatures as hot as the surface of the sun. When it does this it will also create a light not visible to the naked human eye.

Mantis Shrimp
This animal is not a shrimp and is clearly not a praying mantis, its named due to its resemblance to both animals. They have the best eyesight with 16 different photoreceptor types (humans have 4) Their claws are strong enough to split human appendages. In aquariums, they are constantly breaking out by smashing the glass with their claws. Their punch is stronger than a .22 calibre pistol.

Goblin Shark
This guy is from the deep sea. This shark is mostly pink. They hunt by sensing the presence of prey with electro sensitive organs in their snout because there is no light where they live. When a shark finds its prey, it suddenly protrudes its jaws, while using a tongue-like muscle to suck the victim into its sharp front teeth.

In October 2008, this new species was found in Siberia. They drill their hook-and-barb-lined tongues under the skin to suck blood.

Lion’s Mane Jellyfish
Its body is able to grow up to 8 feet in diameter, and their tentacles can grow to 150 feet in length which is longer than a blue whale, which is thought to be the largest animal in the world. They are found in the freezing waters of the Arctic Ocean and Northern Pacific Ocean during the coldest months of the year.

Geographic Cone Snail
This snail grows up to 6 inches and is toxic enough to paralyze in an instant. If a certain protein is isolated in the venom of this cone snail, it has to potential to be 10,000 times more potent than morphine with out it being addictive.

Barreleye Fish
This fish lives off the coast of California. It has a black body and a transparent head. Those 2 bulges you see at the front of its head where you might think the eyes are, aren’t really eyes. Its eyes are those 2 green circles in its head. It lives at depths at around 2,600 feet, so their internal eyes point upwards to search for potential prey.

Bombardier Beetle
At the end of their abdomen, two separate chambers store hydroquinone and hydrogen-peroxide. When they are threatened, the beetle contracts the chambers, combining the two materials which violently react and produce a spray roughly the same temperature as the boiling point of water.

Immortal Jellyfish
Yes, it really is immortal. After reaching sexual maturity, this jellyfish is able to reverse its aging process and become a polyp again. The ability to reverse the life cycle is probably unique in the animal kingdom, and allows the jellyfish to bypass death, rendering it biologically immortal. Lab tests showed that 100% of specimens reverted to the polyp stage.
