Alligators in South Carolina are apparently well versed on the pedestrian laws and using crosswalks to safely cross roads, or at least they seem to be in Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet. On Monday, someone captured video of an alligator using a crosswalk to cross a road near the park’s entrance that leads cars between a saltwater marsh and a freshwater pond. It shows the alligator going from left to right across the road in front of him comes less than eight months after a video was posted showing an alligator crossing in the crosswalk in the opposite direction. “They cross at the crosswalks a few times a year because it is easier than doing the limbo [under the barrier fence],” Bond told FTW Outdoors. “I was on a bike ride and I noticed the alligator was about to cross so I blocked traffic behind me so that he wouldn’t accidentally get run over.” |
