 Same thing I think every time I visit this part of the site. Half-life, fallout 3 and apparently a game called Stalker that people keep bringing up that I've yet to play

Sorry if this repeats anyone elses comments. This is an old NBC bunker. NBC as in Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Bunker. The strange looking oil drum like things in picture 5 are actually filters for cleaning air brought in from the external atmosphere and in picture 6 the square pipe with the motor on it is part of the forced are system as these things when locked down are actually pressurised to make the air flow throughout the bunker 16, 17, 18 all show various personal NBC equipment including what looks like the rarely seen black and blue civilian type jackets but these (if they are them are filled with a charcoal liner as it is the best way to soak-up the liquid or vapor from the released chemicals even the elements released during a nuclear explosion there are large quantities of the average Joe's (or Ivan's) respirator and in the picture with the mess of opened and unopened cases there are what looks like round chalk containers and these filled with fine chalk or china clay (kitty litter) as this soaks up the liquid droplets from both liquid and vapor chemical as well as the dust residue from a nuclear environment the whole place just reeks of cold war preparations for the thing that thankfully never happened..... |
