The Abandoned Starlite Music Theater
In this incredible black and white photograph by Sébastien Barré, we see the inside of the abandoned Starlite Music Theater in Latham, New York. The building shut down in 1997, ending a 40 year run that saw entertainers such as Bob Hope, Milton Berle, Wayne Newton, Tom Jones and Eddie Murphy perform on its stage: In the years after, the abandoned building deteriorated, attracting a new audience—urban explorers. And on November 15, 2012, demolition began and the building no longer remains. To see more photos of the abandoned theater before it was destroyed, check out the complete album by Sébastien Barré on Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/altuwa/...7618272180323/ |

Re: The Abandoned Starlite Music Theater
I live less than 5 miles from there - I remember as a kid, I always wanted to go inside of it and look around, but of course I wasn't able to since I wasn't old enough for a car and definitely would be a red if a little girl was walking near an abandoned building trying to get in. We just moved back to here in June and I was kind of bummed out to know that it was demolished before I got to look inside. On the bright side, there is still a preserved train out in the middle of the woods about 15-20 minutes away that I can explore and post pictures of.
