Not only eat them, the fresh water pearl mussel (Margaritafera margaritafera) was almost distinct due to its pearls, and now pollution is a big threat to it, they can reach to an age over 200 years. |

Too bad we can't study and extract the unique qualities of the DNA from these animals and somehow use it to regenerate our own cells, or potentially extend our lives much further. That would be cool  |
