You are so right, our hallibut- population in Norway have desimated over the years and the female hallibut should be protected and this should be criminalized and prohibited, the male hallibut gains only a 50 kg`s or 100 lbs |

And people still eat halibuts this size, I know cause we get a lot of these huge fuckers here up in Iceland on the trawlers...

Yes and No, if it's been very deep pulling it up quickly can rupture the swim bladder, if it wasn't too deep you can let it cool off ( in the water) and release it. Some people are good enough to punture the bladder with an ice pick and let it go. You can take a picture of anything, get measurements and the Taxidermist can make you a replica, there's not much real fish, deer, duck or bear hanging on the wall anyway. Catch and release or photo safari can be the way to go sometimes |
