3 Statues Raised from the Seabed Off the Coast of Alexandria, Egypt
Three enormous statues have been raised from the seabed off the coast of Alexandria, Egypt. Archaeological finds suggest the site may have been an extension of the city of Canopus, a famous ancient Egyptian port in the Nile Delta, the Ministry of Antiquities said in a statement. "The artefacts date back to various historical periods, from the Ptolemaic era to the Roman era," said Mohamed Ismail, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities. He noted that the objects raised confirm that the city continued to exist since its founding by Alexander the Great in 331 BC. |

Wish they would raise the "Collossus of Rhodes" and put it back together and on display. |
