While I think that the death penalty has it's many defects and shortcomings, I just don't think it can be taken off of the table as a form of punishment. There is just something that satisfies a deep seated need for justice when you know that a someone who commits the most heinous of crimes will, eventually, DIE FOR IT. |

shit. lethal injection? thats no fun. if theyd let me, id line em up and pop in the head wit a .22. whats the point in letting them sit on death row. whats the point in killing them in a humane way. was stonewall jackson up at the top "humane" when he cuffed dude and beat his ass wit a bat? |

Emmanuel Fitzgerald Hammond Executed January 25, 2011 11:39 p.m. by Lethal Injection in Georgia ![]() Victim: ![]() Crime: Hammond, his girlfriend Janice Weldon, and her cousin Maurice Porter, were driving around when they spotted Julie Love walking nearby. Love's car had run out of gas. They stopped and offered her a ride, but she declined and they left. Minutes later, they returned. Hammond stepped out with a sawed-off shotgun and forcibly threw the victim into the back of the car. They found cash and ATM cards in her purse and forced her to reveal her PIN number. When they drove to the bank, the number did not work. Hammond responded by beating Love with the shotgun, then Porter raped her. Weldon demanded she be allowed to go home and she was dropped off at her apartment. Hammond bound Love and he and Porter attempted to strangle her. They then drove to another location, where Hammond walked her into the woods and shot her with the shotgun. Hammond later admitted to Weldon that he "blew the side of her face off" and dumped her body in a trash pile. The sawed-off shotgun was recovered from Michael Dominick, to whom Hammond had sold the gun not long after the murder. The victim’s earrings were also recovered, after having been pawned for $140 by Janice Weldon. Months later, Weldon had Hammond arrested after he beat and strangled her. She also revealed that Hammond and Porter had killed Love. She also led police to the skeletal remains Julie Love. Porter and Weldon testified at Hammond’s trial. Porter pled guilty to murder and rape and was sentenced to life in prison. Weldon was given immunity for her testimony.After his arrest, Hammond gave Weldon’s photograph and address to an inmate due to be released soon, and offered him $20,000 to kill her.
