1968 Clinical Photo of Airplane Crash Survivor With Craniofacial Injury
A man who survived an airplane crash was photographed with a massive injury to the right side of his head and face for a medical text published in 1968. The patient was not named. The textbook described his right temporal lobe and orbit as completely destroyed. A frontal view shows the right side of his forehead and face deeply caved in, with no visible right eye or orbit. A profile view shows a large, healed depression extending across the right temple, forehead and orbital area. He was alive and conscious when photographed.
