That was a light to shine on the walkway for maitinence workers. It didn't impale him though. If you look close, you can see where he landed, and the impact ripped him in half.

The big red arrow shows where he landed, and his legs kept going til they landed on the second stoop.

I still wonder to this day, what would I have done. Would I want to be burned alive, or jump which at least I wouldn't feel anything once my body hit. Being burned alive is a horrible way to die. It's impossible to know what I would've done
