I saw his body when I was in Moscow in '97. He looked really creepy and mostly waxy. A lot of his fingernails were black. The Army guards would only let people look at the body for a minute, and would then usher everyone out of the mausoleum. No one was allowed to take pics.

The pic on the right is not the autopsy. Lenin's body lies in state. They have to give his body a chemical bath to preserve. It for display.

The picture on the left has the text cut off at the bottom. The text reads: "Yes yes, dear comrade Lenin. Your anual bath is ready. Soak, great leader, for the glory of the workers and the rise of selfless communism!" Bad spelling and all, it's a little creepy!

I remember learning about him in school during World History as everbody else...but, gee I dont remember learning about this- his color is so odd. He looks like a pickle.

In the second picture, he doesn't appear to have a goatee/beard....unless it was glued on....and the picture does look too new.

The funny thing was that he specifically requested to be buried next to his mother. Instead, they preserved and displayed his body for all to see. Hi Chi Minh had a similar fate; he wanted to be cremated.
