Re: Video Of Rayshard Brooks Being Shot by Atlanta Police at Wendy's
A suspect who refuses to comply from the beginning of his interaction with a police officer is not entitled to the same ending as one who does comply, except thru the generosity of the arresting officer. I’m not saying they should all be shot, but a non compliant suspect is creating his own ending. That ending depends on the actions of both, beginning from the onset of non compliance. Bottom line: If you comply, your chances of getting shot in a struggle with an officer are somewhere around 0%.

He was probably thinking "If the perp shoots me with the taser he just stole he may then try for the gun in my holster".

Re: Video Of Rayshard Brooks Being Shot by Atlanta Police at Wendy's
These two idiot cops had not been at the job long enough I guess or their proud got the better of at least one of them. This is the fact. The Taser is not a lethal weapon period. Both cops knew that the idiot drank black dude did not have a gun on him or anything lethal because they searched him. In this situation, you run his ass down, take that Taser away from his drunk ass, handcuff him and book him public intoxication. Plain and simple. However, for the most of us in our minds it is always pondered, “If he weren't black would they had shot him?” If a drunk Stacy Keibler runs away from you after stealing your Taser, do you shoot her 3 times, if she points the Taser at you? If your drunk brother runs away from you after stealing your Taser do, you shoot him three times, if he points the Taser at you? All of this should be common sense. If you cannot figure that out than do not be a cop.

Re: Video Of Rayshard Brooks Being Shot by Atlanta Police at Wendy's
You know nothing about the realities of law enforcement and this is a perfect example of what is wrong with America right now. You refuse to look at facts. You have no idea what you are talking about. You judge situations by the races of the people involved, which is racist. And you seem to think it is no bid deal to resist arrest. As they say on the street, you ignant. sorry. educate yourself. |

No I am not ignorant and use the second post. Law enforcement is a serious job. If you cannot handle the risk than don't be a cop.

Re: Video Of Rayshard Brooks Being Shot by Atlanta Police at Wendy's
Here in Austin, as well as many departments around the country, officers are able to use force one level above the level used against the officers. This is because if an officer has a taser used against him, and he is incapacitated, then the suspect can then freely use the officer's gun to shoot the officer. In contrast, if the officer incapacitates the suspect with the taser, the officer will more than likely not walk over and shoot the suspect dead. It is clear from the surveillance footage that an officer was attempting to chase the suspect (and only had a taser drawn). He drew his gun after the suspect displayed the willingness to use the taser (pointing the taser, firing the taser). It is important to note that the taser can still be used at close range to "dry stun," even after the barbs are fired. The suspect STILL has the taser when shot. The question shouldn't be if you would shoot if he were black or white. The question should be, "Is the suspect displaying a willingness to commit violence against me?" The surveillance footage seems to show that the suspect fired the taser as well. However, do you believe "your drunk brother" will or could kill you if you become incapacitated? Are you in charge of protecting other people from your drunk brother? Is your drunk brother driving a 3000 lb. bullet around while drunk, then fighting with you as you take away his keys and attempt to remove him from the situation? Peace Officer make these decisions is a matter of seconds. You have days to come up with the (and I am being very very generous here) "intellectual arguements" on why they should have done this or should have done that. We had a saying in the military "It's better to be judged by 12, than to be carried by 6." Your logic really makes me wonder if that's still true in America. |

Re: Video Of Rayshard Brooks Being Shot by Atlanta Police at Wendy's
Thats not true, if he turned around and tasered the officer he could take his gun and murder both officers. 100% justifyable shooting. Fucking drunk idiot resisting arrest. When will people learn!?!?!?
