Video From Patrick Crusius & The El Paso Walmart Shooting
On August 3, 2019, a mass shooting occurred at a Walmart store in El Paso, Texas. The gunman, identified as 21-year-old Patrick Wood Crusius, carried out a terrorist attack that resulted in the death of 23 people and injuries to 22 others. The Federal Bureau of Investigation classified the shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and a hate crime.

Crusius, who was 24 at the time of sentencing, had driven more than 700 miles from his home to the Walmart location in El Paso. He later pleaded guilty to nearly 50 federal hate crime charges, marking it as one of the largest hate crime cases in the history of the United States government. His attack specifically targeted Hispanic shoppers, adding a racially motivated dimension to the tragedy.

In response to his guilty plea, Crusius was sentenced to 90 consecutive life sentences.

At least 18 people were reportedly killed and at least 22 others, including a four-month-old baby, were wounded on Saturday after a gunman reportedly opened fire inside a Walmart in El Paso.
