Vic Morrow's Body After the Twilight Zone Movie Accident
An accident on the set of "Twilight Zone: The Movie" in 1982 resulted in the death of actor Vic Morrow and two child actors, Myca Dinh Le and Renee Shin-Yi Chen. The incident occurred during a night scene which required Morrow's character to carry the two children across a shallow river, pursued by American soldiers in a hovering helicopter. Tragically, the helicopter, piloted by Vietnam War veteran Dorcey Wingo, lost control due to a pyrotechnic effect detonating too close, causing the helicopter's tail rotor to fail. As a result of the rotor failure, the helicopter spun out of control and fell onto the actors. Vic Morrow and Myca Dinh Le were decapitated by the main rotor blades of the helicopter, while Renee Shin-Yi Chen was crushed to death by the helicopter's right landing skid. All three fatalities were almost instantaneous due to the catastrophic nature of the accident.  ·  · |

first saw the movie premier when it came out and visited the bar where the first shot was done. always wondered if there was some kind of autopsy or what occured after the fatal helicoptor blade killed him and the 2 kids. Terrible

Where is that? Do you know if it's still around? There was an autopsy although the cause of death was a foregone conclusion. I was the OP; I went down the rabbit hole on this subject after reading "Fly By Night" (good catch v1r). This book is relatively new and has a lot of new revelations. I don't know how sound the sources were. There's another great book on the subject called "Outrageous Conduct". EDIT: I posted these recently on an old thread here, so when I saw this I assumed it was from my post and I was the OP. I re-read the original post for this thread, and discovered I missed the part about Reddit. I didn't post it there. It pays to read things, I guess :$ |
