Kaleth Miguel Morales Troya, a Colombian singer-songwriter and leading figure in vallenato's Nueva Ola movement, died on August 24, 2005, after a vehicle carrying him and his brother Keyner left the Cartagena-Valledupar highway and overturned in Magdalena department, Colombia.

Morales was taken through local hospitals before being transferred in a coma to Hospital de Bocagrande in Cartagena, where he died that morning. The recorded cause of death was marked cerebral edema with a deep parietal contusion. Keyner Morales survived with less serious injuries. Morales was buried at Jardines Ecce Homo in Valledupar, where a crowd of more than 10,000 people was reported to have attended.
