I watching a show about Keith Jespersen, who got mad that another couple and Lynn confessed to one of his murders. Now, there's a strange character! If I recall correctly, Jespersen's number was up to three before the orignal two who confessed were released.

I don't get why someone would confess to murders they didn't commit.

If it is essential to have a certain order (as is with your fine description) you have to resize the small pictures, so that they are wide enough.

I don't know the exact limit, but you ca see the result, if you review the post before uploading.

The first batch of pictures - nicely in order - are 512 pixels wide or more (the three first are 540). They are shown as thumbnails 400 pixels wide with links to the full size pictures.

But #8, #12 and #14 are missing. They are shown in a separate section below, because they are only 288 pixels wide, which is below the thumbnails size - no need to link to an image same size as the thumbnail. If you can't click on a thumbnail, it is not a thumbnail - it's the image itself.

If you need to have your images shown in exact order, you must secure that they are all wider than 400 pixels wide (or all less than 400 pixels of course).

I had a set with explanations fucked up the same way as you, so I learned the lesson.

The reason for it all is that DR has BIG usefull thumbs - which is very much appreciated (by me at least)
