Steven Ercolino Death Pictures From Empire State Building Killing
Steven Ercolino was a 41-year-old executive at Hazan Import Corporation. The shooter, identified as Jeffrey Johnson, was a former employee of the same company. Johnson had been laid off from his position as a designer of women's accessories at Hazan Import and reportedly held a grudge against Ercolino, whom he blamed for his job loss. On the morning of August 24, Johnson encountered Ercolino outside of their workplace near the Empire State Building. An altercation ensued, culminating in Johnson fatally shooting Ercolino. The attack was targeted and stemmed from a long-standing dispute between the two men. After the shooting, Johnson attempted to flee the scene. He was confronted by law enforcement officers near the Empire State Building. During the confrontation, Johnson drew his weapon, prompting the officers to fire. Johnson was shot and killed by the police. In the course of this exchange, several bystanders were also injured, mostly by stray bullets or ricochets from the police officers' gunfire.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·
