That was some crazy shit. Watching it live was heart wrenching. Clearly, the fear of dying by fire is more terrifying to some people than a 100-story freefall ending in a brutally violent death. These jumpers did get one thing that most people don't - they got to choose how they were going to go out. Granted, the options were extremely limited but it's still a choice. They showed a lot of courage. How sad if family members recognized them, though.

If the fall was not biologically shattering enough to cause unconsciousness lets hope it was mentally damaging enough to cause extreme shock. Those doomed humans and their helpless confused souls haunt me til this day and will no doubt continue to do so forever. Hope they eventually found peace.

I don't think it was the French crew at all. They followed the fire dept. into the bldg. You can hear the glass shatter from the impact of the people hitting the canopy after they jumped from above. Soon after the French crew arrived the building was crashing down and they went to the elevator. They did not have any time to go outside and they had to stay indoors because of other falling debris from above.

Most people jumped because of the intense heat. Some that made it out said they could feel the intense heat and they weren't even near it. Imagine it being in the same room as you and your only escape is jumping. I think I myself would have jumped aswell, what other choice do you really have? As for the fainting or passing out before impact from jumping might be true for some but definitely NOT for all. I've plenty jumpers clearly awake and aware right before hitting the ground.  |
