Had NOTHING to do with shoplifting. According to the officer's report and the only indpendant eyeball witness who was not Brown's friend, Brown punched the cop in the face, tried to grab his gun, then tried to flee when he failed to get the gun, and finally turned and charged the officer like a 300 lb black bull when he was ordered to halt.

Whether or not Brown stole those cheap cigars was utterly irrelevant to his death. In fact, the police department has gone on record stating that the officer didn't even know Brown was a robbery suspect at all when he encountered him.

He died because he assaulted an officer of the law and, when ordered to desist and surrender, tried to assault him again.

I'm no fan of corrupt or abusive police but the story here is that this joker punched the cop, broke his eye socket, tried to grab his gun and then started running when he couldn't get it. Upon being told to freeze he turned around and charged the cop who shot him 6x.

Fact of the matter is now every single one of the so-called "witnesses" who have made media appearances have been shown as liars. Michael was never shot in the back, he never went down to his knees, his hands were never in the air, and he never said, "Don't shoot." We finally heard the real story, but of course it's from a man who will be too much of a coward to tell the truth because of the community in which he lives. Defending a white cop with the truth in the face of the entire black community glorifying a thief, assaulter, and gang member (don't forget the photos of him showing the Blood gang signs, as well as him holding a gun at the camera as he bites down on a stack of bills surrounded by the ingredients for "purple drank") would be the end of the witness. Which is really rather telling, as I keep hearing black community "leaders" saying this situation highlights the need for "police to repair the relationship between them and the black community," but it's their communities who continually say, "snitches get stitches" and refuse to help cops solve crimes that happen to them. The other day five people were shot in front of a church; none of them would cooperate with the police. In what world this does make sense?

This also isn't a "poor" issue. Only in America can a bunch of people with smart phones, Facebook accounts, cars with rims and stereo systems, wearing gold chains around their necks be called "poor" and/or "disadvantaged." This is not a race issue here, as there's plenty of blacks who are incredibly smart, respected, and successful; this is an entitlement and excuse issue here. Poor is how my grandparents grew up during the depression; poor is how 18 million kids in this country are nutritionally unstable; poor is the kid in Africa whose stomach is distended because he's dying of starvation. That's poor. These people are just using moderate self-inflicted poverty as an excuse for why 3% of our population (18-34 black males) commit over 55% of robberies and 50% of murders.

Anyway, this was just a really long post about how it's not a race issue but a community issue that doesn't appear to have an immediate solution, especially not when Obama sends Holder to Ferguson to investigate invisible "civil rights" charges. And I voted twice Obama. I've never been more embarrassed in my life at being a [moderate] liberal with the way the President, media, liberals, and black community members have been glorifying this criminal.

Personally I would be embarrassed to say I voted for Obama even once. Not a Republican here. I was initially really stoked on Obama until I heard him live in 2008 at a university campus. I could tell right then he was a snake oil salesman. I guess it takes you 7+ years to get to the same conclusion? Maybe next time you and all your friends can save us the trouble and just stay home.
