Pictures of Johann "Jack" Unterweger Dead
Johann "Jack" Unterweger, a convicted murderer turned author and journalist, was found dead in his prison cell in Graz, Austria, in June 1994. His death, ruled a suicide, came shortly after his conviction for the murder of several women in Austria, the United States, and Czechoslovakia. Unterweger was initially convicted in 1976 for the murder of a young woman in Austria. During his imprisonment, he took up writing and became a celebrated author, with his work often portraying a reformed character. His literary talent and purported rehabilitation won him supporters in the Austrian intellectual community, leading to his release in 1990 after serving 15 years of a life sentence. However, following his release, Unterweger quickly returned to criminal behavior. He was connected to a series of murders of prostitutes in Austria, Los Angeles, California, and Prague, Czechoslovakia. The similarities in the modus operandi of these murders to his original crime raised immediate suspicion. Unterweger's case drew significant media attention due to his background as a writer and the initial belief in his rehabilitation. He even reported on some of the murders as a journalist, a chilling aspect of his double life. After an international manhunt, he was arrested in the United States in 1992 and extradited to Austria. In 1994, Unterweger was found guilty of nine murders committed after his release from prison. The trial was a high-profile event, largely due to the shocking nature of his crimes and the controversy surrounding his initial release. The discovery of Unterweger's body, hanging in his prison cell, was seen as his final act of defiance. His suicide left many questions unanswered, particularly about the nature of his psychopathy and the possibility of other unknown victims. These are screencaps from a documentary about austrian serial killer Jack Unterweger. Till today i never saw Jack Unterweger after he hung himself. Figured i have to share those. |
