Photo's of the Death of John Dillinger
John Dillinger was born on June 22, 1903, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He rose to infamy during the Great Depression era, known for his daring bank robberies, prison escapes, and the audacious nature of his crimes. He was considered Public Enemy Number One by the U.S. government. John Dillinger was shot and killed by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) outside the Biograph Theater in Chicago, Illinois. The FBI, under the direction of J. Edgar Hoover, had been pursuing Dillinger for months. The FBI was tipped off about Dillinger's presence at the Biograph Theater by Anna Sage, a Romanian immigrant and brothel owner. Sage was reportedly facing deportation and cooperated with the FBI in the hope of avoiding it. She informed the FBI that Dillinger would be attending a film at the theater, and she was with him on the night he was killed. After watching a movie, as Dillinger and two companions exited the theater, FBI agents moved in to arrest him. Dillinger attempted to flee and reportedly reached for a weapon. He was shot three times by FBI agents, with two bullets grazing him and the fatal shot entering the back of his neck and exiting just under his right eye. Dillinger's death was controversial, with some criticizing the FBI's handling of the operation, alleging excessive force. The incident significantly bolstered the reputation and public image of the FBI.  ·  ·  ·  ·

From what I've read, it seems like that big bulge in the second pic (which probably is just a misplaced arm) could very well have been his woodie.

He killed one cop, some say by accident. This was a Gov't hit for PR. I wish someone would steel from Wall street/Corp right now! |
