Photos From The 2014 War in Gaza (Operation Protective Edge)
The 2014 conflict in Gaza, known as "Operation Protective Edge," was a seven-week military operation launched by Israel against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. It began on July 8, 2014, and lasted until August 26, 2014. This conflict marked one of the deadliest and most destructive episodes in the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The operation commenced following a series of escalating tensions between Israel and Hamas, including the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers in the West Bank and the subsequent killing of a Palestinian teenager in Jerusalem. Israel initiated airstrikes against Hamas targets in Gaza, stating the aim was to halt rocket fire into Israel and destroy Hamas' tunnel network. Hamas and other militant groups responded with rocket fire into Israel. The conflict resulted in significant civilian casualties and widespread destruction in the Gaza Strip. According to United Nations reports, over 2,100 Palestinians were killed, including more than 500 children, and thousands were injured. On the Israeli side, 67 soldiers and six civilians were killed. To me, Zionism is the same as Nazism, but in reverse. Jews have a homeland, but the Palestinians don't deserve one?
