I met a guy who was present with MLK when he was shot. He removed the cigarettes from MLK's front pocket so the kids wouldn't know he smoked.

I never heard that someone actually removed his cigarettes from his pocket. Did you notice the cigarette next to the individual droplets of blood in Photo 6? It was in Kings hand when he was shot which obviously caused him to drop it. |

Yeah, he had the pack of cigarettes in his front pocket. The man is named Reverend Billy Kyles. I met him back in 2009 when I was in Memphis for a thing with my school. I look like absolute shit in the photos, due to a 16 hour bus ride and then a whole day of speeches with no down time, but it was an amazing experience.  · |
