King Charles XII Headshot Autopsy Pic
King Charles XII of Sweden, one of the most notable figures in Swedish history, met his end on November 30, 1718, during the siege of Fredriksten Fortress in Norway. He was 36 years old. Born on June 17, 1682, Charles XII ascended to the throne at the age of 15 and quickly became known for his military prowess and his role in the Great Northern War. Charles XII's death, caused by a fatal gunshot wound to the head while inspecting trenches during the siege, remains a subject of historical debate. Some accounts suggest assassination, while others propose that he was killed by enemy fire. His death marked a significant turning point in the Great Northern War, leading to the decline of the Swedish Empire and a shift in power dynamics in Northern Europe. Known as the "Warrior King," Charles XII was a central figure in Sweden's military engagements during the early 18th century. His reign saw continuous warfare, most notably against a coalition formed by Russia, Poland, and Denmark. His aggressive tactics and refusal to compromise are often cited as reasons for both his early successes and later military setbacks. |

Must have been a large round to cause that damage The cartilage in the nose has probably decayed and the surrounding skin collapsed, giving the appearance of it being broken. |
